In the last month, I have started and failed to finish 3-4 blog posts. I’ve been deep in editing mode. After the 19th, I’m hoping to get back to posting regularly. But I also plan on starting another book and preparing for the baby’s arrival (We had our first ultrasound, that was super cool.) So, I might not be able to be as active as I’d like to be.

But because I really do hate not participating, I thought I’d share an excerpt of what I’m working on. Milla’s father has just helped move her into her freshman dorm room. They are alone after her roommate leaves. I hope you guys enjoy it.

The Patel’s herded out the door, leaving Milla and her father alone.

The dorm room seemed to shrink, the cinder block walls encroaching. There was the smell of Naomi’s fabric softener mingled with the scent of stale…

So revisions are tough, right? We’ve been establishing that. But you know what to do, right? Just go through your manuscript and make all the changes that need to happen.

Yeah, I hear you laughing. Don’t worry, I know it’s not that simple.

Apart of what makes revisions so challenging is that once you’ve put all that time and effort into writing the manuscript–time and effort you weren’t sureexisted–now you have toreturnto that manuscript andface it with critical eyes.

How are you going to find the energy for that?

What is your latest release and what genre is it? My latest release is called Generations Beyond. It’s a military sci-fi book with elements of romance.

Quick description: There were secret human experiments conducted on military personnel and civilians without their knowledge. The last recorded name of this initiative was MKUltra. It was thought to be a failure since none of the test subjects displayed traits that the scientists were aiming for. When the project came to light in the early 1970s, it was shut down and most of the official documentation was destroyed.

Descendants of the test subjects have begun to appear with abilities similar to what was in the MKUltra files. The military is now scrambling to find them, labeled Generations, before their secret is out. Keeping in the fine military tradition, those that will not…
